Marrakech → Ouzoud Waterfalls
Your driver picks you up at your riad or hotel at around 8 in the morning. The road goes north-east out of Marrakech, across the Haouz plain and into the green foothills of the Middle Atlas, with olive groves and small villages on the way. After about two and a half hours you arrive in the village of Ouzoud.
A local guide can walk with you to the top of the falls, where you see the water drop into the gorge. Then you take the path down past old water mills and small cafés. Watch for the Barbary macaques, wild monkeys that live in the olive trees. They are cheeky, so keep your food in your bag.
