Meet your horse at the edge of the dunes
Your ride starts at the stables at the edge of the dunes. Your horseman helps you choose the right horse for your level, shows you how to sit and how to hold the reins, and checks that the saddle feels good. If you have never ridden before, do not worry. He walks next to you, or holds a lead rope, until you feel confident. If you are an experienced rider, you can ask for a little more speed on the flat sandy ground between the dunes.
You ride out along the soft valleys of Erg Chebbi. The horses know the sand and walk calmly, with that soft, quiet sound of hooves in sand. After some time you stop on a high spot, get off the horse and sit down to watch the sun disappear. Your horseman may tell you about life in the desert, or simply stay quiet with you. When the light is gone, you ride back slowly under the first stars.
